Should You Consider an Outdoor Farm Wedding

Outdoor Farm Wedding

Search the words, “outdoor farm wedding,” and Google and even Pinterest will load gorgeous photos with descriptions like Rustic, Elegant, Romantic, & Stunning.  A decade or so ago, you wouldn’t have imagined these words being used together to describe an outdoor farm wedding event in Tennessee. You can always expect a country feel to weddings in Music City.

The wedding industry has brought farm life to the forefront for wedding ceremonies and receptions.  Personally, I’m predicting this trend to continue for years to come. Farm views are breathtaking with shades of green everywhere you look. Water features and bridges add even more photo opportunities. Beautiful wooden barns truly stand the test of time and the older the barn wood, the prettier the background of the venue. Country air is clean, making the skies even bluer and clouds whiter than the latest white Funny Bunny OPI nail color. Add  a classic white cloth pole tent and you have the makings for one gorgeous and elegant outdoor farm wedding.

Is a Wedding Tent Essential?

TENT 200x300 - Should You Consider an Outdoor Farm Wedding

Renting a Tent for your reception is not only a sense of security from unpredictable weather, but it just adds that touch of ambiance and airy feel of being outdoors.  It can also be the back up plan for the wedding ceremony, if rain is in the forecast. There are so many tent options along with accessories, such as sidewalls, etc. Clear tents are beautiful, but can be very HOT even on an October, sunny and 75 type of day. Lush green grass as your flooring under the tent looks beautiful in pictures! Google “pole tent” images to see how romantic they look with the high peaks. The interior poles go unnoticed and can be dressed up or played down with draping. When the party rental truck shows up, beautiful things are gonna come together.

Lighting Options— not just functional… a Decor Must!

Chandeliers are often used for lighting under a tent, therefore, words like classy, elegant, romantic come to mind. Your lighting choice should reflect your theme or mood for your Big Day. I’ll bet you want the rustic feel of a farm wedding, but also want touches of elegance for your reception.  One option is to forego the expense of draping under the tent and add chandeliers. Perhaps you are wanting an outdoor dance floor. Weather permitting, you should use string lights to define and add lighting to that space under the moonlight. Whether you choose string lights, chandeliers, or a combination of lighting choices, something magical happens when that flip is switched. The stage is set for a romantic event!LR 1081 1024x683 - Should You Consider an Outdoor Farm Wedding

Why Have Your Wedding at L&L Farm?

IMG 0263 240x300 - Should You Consider an Outdoor Farm WeddingL&L Farm is named for our two daughters, Lauren and Lindy. Our oldest daughter had always dreamed of getting married at our family farm. We heard numerous comments from guests such as, “That was the prettiest wedding I’ve ever been to,” “You should consider using your farm as a wedding venue,” and “I didn’t know a wedding could be that fun.” Quickly, we realized that there was a greater plan for our farm that we didn’t originally bank on. We are biased in thinking our farm is beautiful and quite unique. The desire to share that beauty with future couples made the decision easy to start an outdoor farm and barn wedding venue.

Wedding Photographer reView

A wedding photographer and good friend once said, “I would rather shoot a wedding in an outdoor setting with natural sunlight 10 to 1 over being inside a building with few windows and artificial light.” The renovated 19th century barn on the property, includes huge windows and glass garage doors for all the natural light!

Please CONTACT me if you can visualize your Big Day on an outdoor farm setting or barn wedding.
